THE EXPERIMENTS OF USING THE ADVANCED CONSTRUCTION SYSTEMS IN THE RESTORATION OF THE POPULAR SYMBOLS IN THE BIG MILIEU GLASS DOMES

Abstract

The scientific and technological development could facilitate to the world’s artists and architects to be so close, as they made materials and the advanced architectural constructional systems and structures could solve many problems in the glass domes designing. My attention could be attracted by the several using of the glass in the architecture, the impact of the technological progress, its using not only as an aesthetical value according to its color and transparency, but also its function value to conserve temperature internally, light distribution controlling and loading strength. 2 Such technological scientific progress has led to new property of the glass such as it beings the hardest construction materials that spreading, the most using in facades, domes and the architectural ceilings through the advanced structures and the assembling by the Spider System which could assist to find sculptural architectural formations were existing before, as this assisted to change and flourish facades with movement and the softness of formation. The technological development of the glass could also assist to conserve the architectural façade, its multi-advantages in loading strength, color changing and the self-washing. All of these features have assisted to make the architectural identification could be rather similar, as it made the architectural style, feature and characteristics could be reduced. Artist must know that, not to be separated from science and knowledge, it must deal with them till can realize and save developed art is living with the time’s reality and modernism to restore through both architecture and the technological progress the artistic patrimony of nations and countries through popular art has its features, characteristics and symbols. This was tried by us to be achieved in the designing of the big milieu glass domes in Egypt by the advanced technology that assuring the architecture’s feature, the patrimonial arts, and then realizing the originality and contemporaneous in the Egyptian architectural thought through a scientific methodology shall be specified in the following studies: • The constructional elements of glass domes and ceilings. • The advanced technology of the glass domes structures. • The popular arts and their impact on the designing of the glass domes. • To implement the big milieu glass domes in Egypt.
