dc.description.abstract | The elements of the technological smartness in architecture have been extended to include all the building’s parts, beginning from the used materials, ending with walls and facades, till the building as a completely unit known as the (smart building). By this, the building’s casing can change its characteristics dynamically with the changes of the internal environment, the external climate and the seasonable weather conditions. The strategy of designing smart buildings depends on several principals, some of them depending on light, natural ventilation, thermal acquiring control, noise, fire and improving façade’s performance. This to offer the most range of comfort, privacy, transparency and opening large vision field front of the prospect internally. Al of these specifications can’t be realized by any used materials in building except by glass. Through the modern technological progress, glass could gain efficiency and effectiveness fits with the smart building facades’ design, which mechanically controls its systems to decrease total cost of the building, reducing the needs of energy sources, reducing loads and to offer the best climate and environmental solutions to raise the productive and health efficiency rates for building’s occupants, then this shall lead to the society progress and booming, as in our Arabian society we must use such technological progress in the modern building facades, as we try to move such technology with the available possibilities till fitting with the global progress in the Arabian building design. Through studying and researching, it was found that there’s a problem must be resolved through moving the developed technology of the smart building facades in Egypt to be as a goal of research by using the natural light whenever occur problems with the light energy of the building where the irregular and not saving such energy to light the building internally. Also using the technology of the treating the panel glass chemically ,electrically and lighting aiming to obtain some of the thin films coating on the panel glass to produce glass can be fit with the required building smartness for the modern building. That, and to realize this, it must make a study about organizing the natural light for the building facades and protection system against heat, the thermal insulation systems, studying the coating and thin films which fitting with the environmental conditions of the Arabian societies, then studying the Egyptian building facades in the functional and aesthetical aspects in the design. | en_US |
