dc.description.abstract Scarp and pollution issue considers one of the basic matters, which was concerned by researches to assure living quality and life necessity, where modern city has been related with using several sources, natural materials and industrial scarp. That, the industrial and environmental scarp studying, it’s using or terminating them become the most important requirement of the advanced countries. Also it is consider one of the underdeveloped countries’ issues. This led us as a specialized teamwork in glass design and technology field thinking in the possibility to study the ways of technological and scientific treatment to use some of the Egyptian environmental scarp, especially glass, it’s recycling and using in some of artistic and industrial objects. This shall reduce the countries’ burden towards such scarp, as could participate in solving a part of the said issue which determines an important goal that to use the scarp of glass products, recycling and using them to make asphalt glass, fiber glass or to be replaced with amounts in the used glass mixtures to provide manual artistic works or the thermal reforming. To reach the research goals, it was made the following studies: 1) Studying the investigation and collecting data about glass production in Egypt, the consumption, broken rate and the annual resulted scarp from different sources. 2) Studying the important ways of collecting glass scarp, its treatment, the used technological and technical ways of using and recycling process. 3) Scientific & applied results of research: • Making transparent and colored glass fiber and bars. • Colored asphalt glass. • Plain glass sculpture. • Free manual forming by the manual melting glass. en_US
